Ticker Tape Parade

“Phillip Adams spent weeks getting to know Lonnie, Tony, and Craig at the Vets Transitional House in North Philadelphia, sharing their lives and experiences. ‘Patriotism’ as a form of shelter is held up to the light, trumped in the end by each soldier’s inherent dignity which was there all along . . . Phillip has created a Ticker Tape Parade that rains down from the 20 foot ceiling above. The confetti is specific text that draws from a range of emotion, policy, and opinion related to the military. Observing from the outside, a crowd has gathered. As we walk through however, those silhouettes turn into thunderhead clouds.” – Curator Marianne Bernstein
